Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is iSignOn?
iSignon is a security utility that helps you manage authentication measures that are overwhelming your daily computing experience by replacing your passwords with your signature on the iPhone screen.
2) How do I make my signature more secure?
The security of your iSignOn signature depends on several factors. If you are using your own signature, then you should try to be as consistent as possible while training your signature; this way iSignOn will be convinced that you can always consistently write your signature, and even slight variations will be flagged as incorrect. The signature that you use to unlock iSignOn also has to be complex; a simple straight line is very easy to replicate for someone else. If you are using a secret drawing other than your signature, chances are, you will not be able to draw it consistent enough to convince iSignOn to look for very strict consistency with your drawing style. In such cases you should protect your secret drawing from the peering eyes as much as possible. Keep in mind that consistently slowing down and speeding up at specific parts of your secret drawing will add to its security.
Note that the backup password is an alternative way for someone else to pass the initial authentication. You will probably never need to use this backup password, but make sure that it is a long random string. You may write the backup password down in a small piece of paper and keep it in your wallet; or just use your CC number (or a derivation of it) as your iSignOn backup password.
3) Why doesn’t iSignOn recognize my signature?
iSignOn expects you to be always as consistent as when you were while drawing your training signatures. Since you entered your training signatures one after the other, your signatures might have been more consistent that they normally are. You can always re-train your signatures at the Settings tab to adjust the consistency of your signatures to your requirements. We think, looking away from the screen for a few seconds before entering each training signature helps to avoid overly consistent signatures.
4) How do I change the stored username and password in Site Links?
You can always change the password and username for a site by tapping the blue arrow in the Site Links tab.
5) How to fix iSignOn when it does not login to site X?
iSignOn saves the password and username when you tap the blue arrow for a site on the Site Links tab. If the username or password is incorrect, the target web site will not allow successful login. In rare cases, the network speed might be too slow and the login session might expire during authentication., Please check your username and password stored in iSignOn by going to the CheatSheet tab, if you have chosen to copy your password to the CheatSheet. You can always change the password and username for a site by tapping the blue arrow in the Site Links tab.
